As a lifelong sports enthusiast—and a passionate alpine skiing fan—there was never any doubt in my mind: I had to be at the Ski World Championships in my hometown, Saalbach. The entire valley had been working tirelessly for years to prepare for this massive event, and let me tell you, they absolutely delivered.

I had just returned from a trip to Tasmania and made my way straight to Saalbach, buzzing with anticipation. Although I missed the first few speed events, I still caught them live—from the other side of the world! Once I arrived, we were incredibly fortunate to receive VIP passes from Red Bull and Saalbach, and it honestly felt surreal. From walking through exclusive areas to enjoying gourmet food, we were treated like royalty.

The week was packed with incredible moments. We met a ton of amazing people and even got to do some media work, including a shoot with Adidas Terrex. Events like these are such a great opportunity to introduce more people to our sport. One highlight was a roundtable with the  Leogang bikepark, where they announced their new partnership with Warner Bros to host the World Cup there for the next five years—big news!

But the absolute highlight? Watching my friend Camille Rast win her very first World Championship. Witnessing that moment live was nothing short of epic.

And of course, no big event in Austria is complete without some culinary flair. We were lucky enough to be invited to an exclusive Bründl Sports x Van Deer dinner party—an unforgettable night filled with delicious food and inspiring conversations with some truly remarkable people.
